The Book Affair Series

Hello Everyone!

If you have been following my blog posts then you will know I am a big fan of books and literature. And for me, one of the most beautiful things in life is finding people who love same thing as you do and getting to hear them talk about it.

I started THE BOOK AFFAIR SERIES as a way of getting fellow book lovers express their love for books. Who knows, our stories might influence others to become readers!!!

Book Affairs is a weekly series of essays where book lovers explore their unique relationships with books, the pivotal role books play in their lives and their love for all things literature. These essays that promise to be as intense as they are engaging will be published every Saturday.

THE LAST WORDS by Titilope Sonuga

This poem has to be one of the most wonderful things I’ve read this year. Titilope sees through me. I hope it melts your heart as much as it did mine.

“It’s not you, It’s me”

“I just need some time alone to figure things out.”

“I feel like I’m holding you back.”

“you’re too good for me”

“I’m not the man you need me to be right now.” Continue reading “THE LAST WORDS by Titilope Sonuga”

FOR GOODNESS AND MERCY : MY DEITIES

My youngest sisters turned 14 yesterday, June 14th. This post is for them. An old post from my Facebook page.

I’m thinking about my youngest sisters – Goodness and Mercy. Twins. I miss them and haven’t spoken to them in weeks. I’m thinking about them when my friend sends me a picture on BBM : Continue reading “FOR GOODNESS AND MERCY : MY DEITIES”

THE PRISONER

They said I have loved with a love more than love
As I got myself locked in your cell and became your prisoner
The treaty of fetters was signed and you became my jailer
Faithful and obedient unto death I became as gentle as a dove

TWENTY-TWO

image

22 is basically the only age you can use as leverage. Meaning that because it’s the exact age between life-as-you-know-it and what will later be known as ‘real life’ (that’s scientifically proven, of course), people expect you to make some mistakes. Mistakes like overcooking a pot-roast or dating someone who may not be right for you. And that’s okay, because heck, you’re just 22. Shanelle Kaul

LOVE IN 2015

image

You started the new year with a big bang. You were in love. Not the everyday and everyone kind of love. You were deeply in love. Yours was special. Genuine. Pure. Bliss. New Romance. Gaining roots, slowly but surely.

YOU ARE A STAR!!!

image

Has any one noticed I’m a DADDY’S GIRL?! Oh yes! I am a DADDY’S GIRL and I’m so happy about this.
My daddy isn’t like most of the other “daddies”, he is involved in every single thing we do (Although he knows I’m a big girl now and gives me my space) .

He called me yesterday to know how I was doing and in the middle of the conversation he said :

“CHIMDINMA, YOU ARE A STAR.

NO ONE CAN DIM YOUR LIGHT.”

He went ahead to say;

“…I know you love writing so please keep doing it. It’s going to take you places…”

When someone believes in you just know that you’ve already gotten half of the work done.
The smile on my face was so WIDE though and I’ve decided to share this inspiring “quote” with you all.

From now on say to yourself : (YOUR NAME) I AM A STAR.
NO ONE CAN DIM MY LIGHT.”

If possible, send this your kids, your friends, your loved ones. You never know who might just be needing that word of encouragement.

Keep shinning buddies…
Do not let situations, circumstances, trials and tribulations dim your light. It’s not going to be easy but what I know for sure is this ; YOU ARE A STAR AND NO ONE, NOTHING, CAN DIM YOUR LIGHT(S) !!!

It doesn’t matter how long it takes, as long as you keep trying and believing you will shine.

SPARKLE!

SHINE!

RADIATE!

ILLUMINATE!

Keep Shinning.
Keep Shinning.
Let the whole world see your light.

Love xoxo
