Merry Christmas Beautiful People!!!

I am sure a lot of us have devoured meals in their numbers!

Christmas is such an amazing season. The JOY that comes with celebrating the Birth of Christ is second to none and highly contagious – beautiful Christmas songs, new clothes, gifts, love, laughter, FOOD!!! etc.
Something happened in Church yesterday. I spent the Christmas eve at Owerri West LGA, Okolochi – my Aunty’s village.

After Mass, as the Alter servers and wardens and the priest were receding, the little children were all over the Rev. Fr and they were jumping, hugging him and screaming:

Father! Father!! Father!!!

He stopped. Hugged them. Blessed them. Patted their shoulders. Smiled back at them…

It was such a beautiful sight to behold. So CHRIST-LIKE!

It reminded me of what Jesus said:

“Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the Kingdom of heaven”

The reason is Christ and the goal is to be CHRIST-LIKE. To love better, to forgive, to help, TO BE KINDER, to rebuke where necessary, to have a heart so big….

May we be better and more Christ like this season!

So I read something from the renowned poet this evening –  DIKE CHUKWUMERIJE and I hope it melts your heart:

For some, Christmas is cold and snow covered gardens. For others it is the harmattan and long distance roads. I don’t know. Whichever it is – rest or travel, excitement or reflection, in-doors or outdoors, chicken or turkey – take a moment to consider. That a woman with child outside of marriage is not therefore a prostitute. And ordinary people can birth extraordinary things. That if you look up and see an unusual star then maybe you should follow it. And the cloth a baby is swaddled in does not tell its future. That nobody is born ready, and even gods are dependent on random acts of human kindness. That no matter how far reaching, how monumental, how revolutionary a thing may turn out to be it will always debut on an ordinary day. These are the things that give me hope.

Have a Merry Christmas!

Looking forward to 2018!

Love and Light!
